Variable Load

In the traditional systems of isotonic training (weights, barbells, machines), the workload is determined as a percentage of the value of MaxStr expressed by the subject.

The other feature of the isotonic method is that the weight (the lifted mass) does not change during the exercise.

However, as shown by the biomechanical analysis, the muscle expresses diverse strength values at different angles of displacement and, consequently, a fixed isotonic load is not very effective:

– it may be insufficient where the muscle is able to express the maximum strength

– it may be excessive in critical areas with risk of joint overload.

This Variable Load method makes it possible, for the first time, to optimize the load at various angles, through specific load curves.
